Why an add-in

Why not just use Wally?

In the add-in, Wally has more context and uses the program's own features.

In the Wally app

With the add-in

Outlook

You describe what the mail is about yourself.

Wally already has the open mail, the sender and the attachments, and inserts the reply itself.

Excel

You describe your selection and worksheet yourself.

Wally sees your selection and worksheet, and applies the formula, chart, pivot table or conditional formatting directly in the sheet.

Word

You paste text back and forth and lose the formatting.

Wally reads the whole document with its comments and works in your text itself: every edit is a tracked change under your name.

Outlook

Replying without switching screens

Wally suggests a reply right away.

Sound familiar?

I lose more than an hour a day to mail.

The reply is ready in the mail that's already open.

Excel

From selection to applied action

Wally suggests an action based on your selection.

Sound familiar?

Excel is a patchwork of versions and manual actions.

Wally applies the change to your selection, after a preview.

Word

From first draft to a client-ready document

Wally rewrites, translates and checks your advisory notes, minutes and engagement letters directly in Word, in your firm's style.

Sound familiar?

Regulation changes faster than I can keep up.

Wally flags outdated legal references in your text.

Frequently asked questions about the add-ins for Outlook, Excel and Word

Does Wally have add-ins for Outlook, Excel and Word, or only Outlook?

Wally has an add-in for all three: Outlook, Excel and Word. In Outlook, Wally suggests a reply right away that you can insert; in Excel, Wally applies a suggested change to your selection after a preview; in Word, changes appear as tracked changes under your name. You open the same task pane each time, with the same prompts, practice knowledge and dossiers as in the Wally chat.

How do I install the Wally add-in in Outlook, Excel or Word?

There's no separate store listing: you install the add-ins through your IT administrator or with help from Wally support. You can also ask to have the add-ins shown during your demo, so you see straight away how installation works for your firm. Once installed, you sign in with your Wally account and work with your own dossiers and practice knowledge right away.

Does Wally read the content of my mail or Word document, and use it as an instruction?

Wally reads the text in your mail or document to help you, but never treats that text as an instruction it should just act on. In Outlook, Wally suggests a reply based on the open mail; in Word, every suggested change stays visible as a tracked change that you approve or reject yourself. You remain the author of whatever is ultimately sent or saved.

Does the add-in work with the same practice knowledge, prompts and dossiers as the Wally web app?

Yes, the add-ins use the same prompts, library, positions and dossiers everywhere as the Wally chat. You call up a saved prompt, for instance, right away without switching screens, or ask Wally to answer according to your firm's position. You don't need a separate login or to re-explain context when you switch from the chat to Outlook, Excel or Word.

How much time do I save with the Wally add-ins in my accounting practice?

Wally deliberately doesn't quote a minutes-saved figure, because no reliable measurement of that exists; what is true is that you take fewer steps. Instead of reading a mail, opening the attachment, going to Wally, explaining context and pasting the answer back, you open the add-in, pick the answer and insert it right away. The gain is in removing the detour, not a number.

Is the Wally Word add-in available yet, or only Outlook and Excel?

Yes, the Word add-in is available alongside Outlook and Excel. In Word, Wally rewrites, translates and checks your text, flags legal references and gets your document ready for review, always as a tracked change under your name. You can have all three add-ins shown together during your demo if you want to see how they work in your own Office environment.
